I have so much love for Pope Francis, but tbh, nothing he’s teaching or saying is really and essentially new. If anyone even bothered to fact check at all, then it would have been glaringly obvious that the Holy Father is just as orthodox as his predecessor. And goodness, these people who are unjustly putting down Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI to sensationalize the ersatz novelty of Pope Francis’ ways, it’s terrible and uncalled for.
This man, our Pope Emeritus, he lived a different kind of holiness - the quiet kind, much like the Little Flower. Then again, it isn’t too surprising how Papa Bendetto is being treated by the media these days. People of our time are always too caught up with the material that we lose that ability to see past the tangible. We can’t expect everyone to see and understand.
Pope Francis has his own way, and Pope Benedict had his. Neither are less that the other. Different in character, but united in goal.
